Learn about Workspace-level roles, permissions, and managing team members in Webflow.
Good to know
This article covers the default Workspace roles and permissions. Enterprise customers and partners can create custom roles to define permissions for team members.
Your Workspace has two types of roles for team members:
- Workspace role — defines Workspace-level permissions and which site roles a member can be assigned.
- Site role — defines the access level and actions a teammate can perform on specific sites in your Workspace. Learn more about site roles and permissions.
Workspace owners and admins can access the Workspace’s Team settings to manage seats and members. When you add members to your Workspace, you can manage who has access to sensitive controls (such as billing details) or who can perform important actions (like publishing a website) by assigning Workspace roles.
How the seat type determines the available roles
When you invite a new member to your Workspace, you select which type of seat they fill and whether they can publish. The seat type determines which Workspace role and Site role you can assign them.
