Invite new Workspace members and share your site

Updated

Learn how to invite new collaborators and share your site’s read-only link.

When you’re working in Webflow, you can use the “Share” button to invite new Workspace members or share a read-only link.

Each option gives your collaborators and team members a different level of access. With a read-only link, anyone with the link can view your site, but changes they make won’t be saved. Depending on their role, Workspace members can view the site, leave comments, or edit content. Learn more about Workspace roles and permissions.

How to invite new Workspace members to your site

When you’re working in Webflow, you can quickly invite a new Workspace member to your site.

  1. Click the “Share” button in the top toolbar
  2. Input your teammate’s email address in the email field
  3. Choose their Workspace role from the dropdown
  4. Click Invite

If you need to add additional seats in order to invite a new member, you can click Manage seats in the share modal.

Note

When inviting new Workspace members to your site, the default role is Reviewer. This is a free seat with limited permissions, such as viewing the site and leaving comments.

Once your team members receive an invite, they'll be asked to create a Webflow account if they don't already have one. Then, they’ll land in the site from where you invited them. This Workspace to which you’ve invited them will be their default Workspace any time they log into Webflow.

How to share a read-only link

If you’d like to share your site on the Webflow forum or with a colleague, you’ll probably want to protect your work by sharing a read-only link.

Important

A read-only link allows anyone with the link to view your site, but changes they make won’t be saved.

To share a read-only link, click the “Share site” button in the top toolbar and toggle “Can share read-only link” on. From there, you can copy the link and share it wherever you’d like.

At some point, you may wish to change your site’s read-only link to restrict access to your site. To create a new read-only link, click the “Share site” button in the top toolbar, then click the “Generate new link” icon. Keep in mind that this will disable the old link – meaning your site won’t be accessible via the old link any longer.
