Webflow for students discount deprecation

Updated

Learn about the deprecation of Webflow’s students program.

The Webflow for Students program is being deprecated. New applications and renewals won’t be accepted after February 28, 2026.

If you’re approved and apply the discount to an annual CMS site plan before February 28, 2026, you’ll continue to receive the free period until the end of the predefined term. After that, the card on file will be charged at the next renewal date unless you cancel your site plan.

How to apply before February 28, 2026

The 100% student discount can be applied exclusively to an annual CMS Site plan for one qualifying site (e.g., a student portfolio or school project) during checkout. You must be one of the following:

  • A student enrolled at an accredited school — apply using your school email address. Proof of enrollment is required.
  • A student from an approved online course partner — your professor or course coordinator will provide a unique link to apply

To apply:

  1. Submit your application and include all required documentation
  2. Wait for the approval process to complete
  3. If approved, you’ll receive an email with further instructions and a unique discount code

How to renew before February 28, 2026

If you don’t renew your student discount before your billing cycle ends, the card on file will be charged at the next renewal date. To continue your student discount before your billing cycle renews, contact Webflow Support with the following:

  • A copy of your student ID with term dates
  • A copy of your current transcript or class schedule with term dates
  • The name of your Webflow site (must be the same site currently under the student discount)

FAQs

Why is the student discount program being deprecated?

We’re evolving how we support all creators using Webflow. As part of that, we’ve decided to deprecate the Webflow for Students program to focus our efforts on improving the core Webflow platform and resources that serve the entire community. We’re creating more ways to connect, learn, and level up. Learn more about the new era of the Webflow Community.

Are there other ways for students to use Webflow for free?

Yes. Webflow offers a free Starter Site plan that lets anyone design and build sites at no cost. Starter plans do include limits, so if you were using a CMS Site plan through the student discount, you’ll lose access to the features and benefits of that plan once you downgrade — including the ability to publish your site to a custom domain.

Learn how to cancel your site plan and downgrade to the Starter site plan.

Will my site remain live on my custom domain if I cancel my plan?

No. If your site is hosted on a custom domain and you cancel your CMS Site plan, your site will be unpublished from that domain. The Starter plan includes a .webflow.io staging domain that you can continue publishing to.

Will Webflow launch a new student or education program in the future?

We don’t have plans to introduce a new program at this time. Our current focus is on improving the overall Webflow experience — including performance, educational resources, and product innovation — for all users.

What should I do if I recently applied or received a student code?

You can redeem your student code until February 28, 2026. After that date, unredeemed codes will no longer work, and sites using a student-discounted plan will renew at the standard CMS Site plan rate.

If you’ve already activated a discounted site, it will stay active through your current billing period.

How can I keep learning Webflow without the student program?
