Learn what to do if you lose access to the primary email linked to your Webflow account.
If you can't access the primary email associated with your Webflow account, you won't be able to reset your password on your own. Start by trying to recover your email account. If that doesn't work, Webflow Support may be able to verify your identity using billing information on file.
Important
Your primary email is the main way Webflow confirms account ownership, so recovering it is the fastest path back into your account. If you can't recover your email, contact Webflow Support to attempt identity verification using billing information on file. For more details, review the Webflow Terms of Service.
Recover your email account
Webflow Support can't help you regain access to your email account directly. You'll need to work with your email provider to recover it. Follow these steps to try to regain access to your email account.
Try your email provider's account recovery methods
If you can't access your email account because your login credentials aren't being accepted, check whether your email provider offers recovery options. These options are usually available under 'Forgot password?' or 'Trouble logging in?' on your email provider's sign-in page. Some common recovery methods include:
-
Send a password reset link to a backup email — if you've added a secondary email, your provider may allow you to reset your password using that email address
-
Verify your identity via text, phone call, or authenticator app — some providers let you confirm your identity using a code sent via text, call, or an authenticator app
-
Answer security questions — if you've set up security questions, answering them correctly may allow you to reset your password
-
Use a backup code to sign in — some providers generate one-time-use backup codes when you set up your email account, which you can use to sign in
Contact your email provider for manual verification
If you can't recover access using automated methods, contact your email provider directly to request manual verification. Some providers allow account recovery through their support team. Visit your email provider's support site for details on how to request a manual verification.
Check if your email account is deactivated or suspended
Some email providers deactivate or suspend accounts due to inactivity, security concerns, or employment/enrollment status. If your email account is no longer active, you may see an error message when trying to sign in, or emails sent to your address may bounce back.
Another reason your email may be inaccessible is if your email address is linked to a custom domain and the domain registration has expired. If your domain is no longer active, your email service may also have been deactivated.
To try to regain access:
-
Contact your email provider — if your email account was suspended or deactivated, you'll need to reach out to your provider's support team to request that your account is restored
-
Check with your company or school IT department — if your email address is linked to a work or school account, it may have been deactivated due to a change in your employment/enrollment status. Contact your organization's IT department to request that your account is restored, or ask if emails can be forwarded to a different email address
-
Renew your domain (if applicable) — if your email is linked to a custom domain (e.g., yourname@yourdomain.com) and the domain has expired, your email may also have been deactivated. Contact your domain provider to renew your domain registration and restore your email account
Verify your identity with Webflow Support
If you can't recover your email account, contact Webflow Support to explore your options. In some cases, the team can verify your identity using billing information on file and help you regain access to your account. Have your billing details ready when you reach out, as they'll be used to confirm you're the account owner.
