Downgrade or cancel your Workspace plan

Updated

Learn how to downgrade or cancel your Workspace plan.

As your needs scale, you can downgrade your current Workspace plan to a different plan that matches your current needs. Review and compare Workspace plans.

How to prepare to downgrade your Workspace plan

  • All downgrades — the number of unhosted websites in your Workspace must not exceed the new Workspace plan’s limit. You can archive unhosted websites you no longer need.
  • Downgrading to Starter (cancelling your paid plan) — you’ll need to remove all team members and all seats from your Workspace plan before you can downgrade. Once the downgrade process begins, you won’t be able to add additional seats to the Starter Workspace until the next billing period.

How to downgrade to a lower paid Workspace plan

First, open the Workspace you'd like to downgrade. Then:

  1. Click Plans
  2. Click the For freelancers & agencies tab to review those plans
  3. Click Downgrade under the plan you want
  4. Choose a reason, then click Downgrade plan
  5. Click Switch to monthly or Switch to yearly to change your billing frequency
  6. Click Pay now

How to downgrade to the Starter Workspace plan

Downgrading to the Starter Workspace plan effectively cancels your paid Workspace plan.

Good to know

Only one Starter Workspace is allowed per user. If you already have a Starter Workspace and want to downgrade a paid Workspace plan to a Starter Workspace, you’ll need to archive the existing Starter Workspace first.

First, open the Workspace you'd like to downgrade. Then:

  1. Click Plans
  2. Click Downgrade to Starter
  3. Choose a reason
  4. Type “DOWNGRADE” in all caps
  5. Click Downgrade Workspace plan to confirm

We generally do not provide refunds (please refer to section 8 of our Terms of Service) and we do not automatically issue account credit for unused time on a canceled Workspace plan. Learn more about proration and refunds.
