Generate ad creative from your campaign pages, then launch it from the Activate tab.
Your campaign already has the message, visuals, and audiences. Turn them into ads without starting from scratch. Upload a reference image, generate ads in the sizes you need, personalize them for each audience, then send them to Google Ads without leaving Webflow.
Create your first ad
Your reference image is the initial ad that Webflow bases the design on. You can also add up to four supporting assets — extra images you want displayed in the ad, like a product screenshot or a headshot of a speaker.
Use a JPEG, PNG, or WebP reference image up to 30 MB. Supporting assets must be JPEG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB each.
To create your first ad:
- Open your campaign and go to Build > Ads
- Click Upload past ad creative
- Choose an image to use as your reference image
- Click Upload in a Supporting assets slot to add extra images (optional)
- Click Generate first ad
Webflow creates Creative set 1 with a Base version of your ad, sized to the supported ad size closest to your reference image.
Edit your base image with prompts
Describe the changes you want in plain language, and Webflow updates your ad. You can change the text, colors and styling, or images and logos. To edit your base image:
- Click Edit image on your base image
- Describe your change, such as “Change the call to action to Register now”
Keep prompting until the ad looks right. You can edit any ad size the same way.
Pro tip
Finalize your base image before you generate other sizes. Other sizes are reframed from your base image, so later edits to it won’t carry over to sizes you already generated.
Generate ad sizes
The Base image row shows one card for each supported size. Each card lists the size name and its aspect ratio. Scroll sideways to see them all. To generate a size:
- Go to Build > Ads
- Find the size you need in the Base image row
- Click Generate
To save a size, click the download icon below its card.

Good to know
Google Ads is the only ad partner you can launch to from Webflow. To run ads on other platforms, download your ads and upload them there yourself.
Create ad variations
Variations let you personalize your ads for the audiences in your brief. After you generate your first ad, a prompt offers to create a variation for each audience it finds. To generate ad variations:
- Go to Build > Ads
- Click Generate variations in the Generate ad variations prompt
Each variation shows up in the Variations list with a Ready label. Click a variation to see its ad sizes. Each variation has its own sizes, so generate the ones you need for each. If you click Dismiss, you can add and edit variations later.
To work with a single variation, click the more options icon next to it, then choose:
-
Update supporting images — change the extra images shown in that variation's ads
-
Download — save that variation's ads
The Base version only has the Download option.
