Find instructions for connecting supported AI tools to Webflow.
The Webflow MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets supported AI tools work with Webflow, so you can design, build, and manage your sites using natural-language prompts. For many popular tools, Webflow provides a connector or plugin you can install and authorize, so you don't have to set up the server manually. Setup steps vary by tool, so find the right setup guide below, or connect another MCP-compatible tool manually.
Before you get started
To connect the MCP server, you need an AI tool that supports MCP and a Webflow account. Only Workspace owners, Workspace admins, and Site managers can authorize access to a site through the MCP server.

Connect another AI tool to Webflow
If you're using a different AI tool or if you want to connect to the MCP server manually, you can use the server URL https://mcp.webflow.com/mcp.
Add this URL as a custom MCP server (sometimes called a custom connector) in your tool, then authorize the sites and Workspaces you want your AI tool to access. The exact steps depend on the tool you're using.
For tool-specific instructions and local installation options, see the getting started guide and the Webflow MCP server NPM package in Webflow's developer documentation.
Use the Webflow MCP Bridge App
Most connections to the MCP server are direct — your AI tool can work in your sites without needing to have your site open in Webflow. However, actions that depend on what you have selected or open on the Webflow canvas require the Webflow MCP Bridge App — a companion app you open in Webflow that syncs your live canvas with your AI tool.
For example, selecting a component in Webflow and asking your AI tool to make changes to that specific instance requires the Bridge App. The Bridge App installs automatically when you authorize the MCP server. To use the MCP Bridge App:
- Open your site in Webflow
- Open the Apps panel from the left toolbar
- Launch the Webflow MCP Bridge App
- Wait for the app to connect to the MCP server
You can minimize the Bridge App once it's connected, but make sure the browser tab remains active while your AI tool is working with the MCP server.
