Find out why certain features might not be available on your site or in your Workspace.
Some Webflow features are available only when specific conditions are met — for example, having a paid Workspace or Site plan, or a particular user role. In some cases, a feature may also need to be toggled on, or limited to specific Enterprise plans.
This article explains the most common reasons a feature might not be available in your account and what you can do to check your plan, permissions, and access level.
Factors that affect feature availability
Feature access in Webflow can vary depending on several factors:
Workspace plan type
Some features are only available on paid Workspace plans — for example, Core, Growth, Freelancer, or Agency — or may differ between them. If you’re on the free Starter plan, certain features may not appear in your Workspace settings. You can find out which Workspace plan you have in Workspace settings > Plans. Compare Webflow Workspace plans on our pricing page.
Site plan type
Some features depend on your site’s plan (e.g., Starter, Basic, CMS, Business, Ecommerce, or Enterprise). For example, the Webflow CMS isn’t available on the Basic Site plan. You can find out which plan your site is on in Site settings > Plans > Website tab. Compare Webflow Site plans on our pricing page.
Add-ons
Some features require a specific add-on, such as Localization, Optimize, or Analyze. If you don’t see a specific feature, it might need to be added to your plan first. You can check your site’s add-ons in Site settings > Plans > Add-ons tab. Learn more about managing add-ons in Webflow.
Workspace or site roles
Feature access can also depend on your role. For example, only Workspace admins and owners can manage billing or enable certain Workspace-level features. Site managers and editors have different levels of access. You can check your Workspace role in Workspace settings > Team. Learn more about roles and permissions.
Permissions and toggles
Even if your plan supports a feature, the Workspace owner, admin, or Site manager may need to enable it before others can use it. For example, Webflow AI needs to be toggled on in Workspace settings > General to use some AI features. Learn more about Webflow AI.
The mode you’re working in
Some features are only available in certain modes — for example, Design, Build, Edit, or Comment mode. Some roles are restricted to specific modes. If you don’t see a feature where you expect it, you may need to switch modes or have a different Workspace / Site role. Learn more about roles and permissions.
Enterprise plan type
Some advanced features are available only to Enterprise customers, and some are available only on specific Enterprise plans. If you’re an Enterprise customer and don’t see a specific feature, it may not be included in your current plan. Contact your Webflow Enterprise account team/CSM to check if a feature is available on your plan. Learn more about Webflow Enterprise.
What to do if you can’t access a feature
If you’re unable to access a specific feature:
Search for the feature on the Webflow Help Center — Check the relevant article for any specific requirements needed to access it, such as plan type, role, mode, or add-ons.
Check your Workspace plan — Go to Workspace settings > Billing > Plans to confirm which plan you’re on.
Check your Site plan — Go to Site settings > Plans > Website tab to make sure the site you’re working on has the right Site plan for the feature you’re trying to use.
Check your site’s add-ons — Go to Site settings > Plans > Add-ons tab to confirm whether a required add-on (like Localization, Optimize, or Analyze) has been added to your site.
Confirm your role and permissions — Go to Workspace settings > Team to check your role. Ask your Workspace owner, admin, or Site manager to confirm you have the right permissions.
Check for feature toggles — Some features need to be enabled in Workspace settings or Site settings before they’re available to use.
For Enterprise customers — If you’re on an Enterprise plan but still can’t access a feature, contact your Webflow Enterprise account team or CSM to confirm whether it’s included in your specific Enterprise plan.
