Use the quick access shortcut to edit your live site

Updated

Use a URL parameter to open a Webflow-hosted live webpage directly in the Webflow canvas.

Need to make a quick change while viewing your live site? You can jump straight from any Webflow-hosted live webpage to the Webflow canvas by adding a parameter to the URL. You can start updating content right where you left off, with no extra clicks.

This shortcut opens the site page you were viewing in the Webflow canvas. Your site role determines what you're able to edit, just like it does when you open the site in Webflow through the dashboard. If you've set a default preview role, that preview role is applied when the canvas loads instead of your assigned site role.

Append ?update to the site’s URL

In your web browser’s address bar, add this parameter to the end of the URL: ?update

For example:

www.my-website.com/page1?update

If you’re not signed in to Webflow, you’ll be prompted to sign in before the canvas loads. If you’re already signed in, the site page opens directly in the Webflow canvas.

Note

If the shortcut does not work, you’ll need to republish your site to activate the shortcut.
