Edit an optimization

Update variations, goals, and settings in your existing optimization.

Note

Traditional tests can only be edited while they’re in a draft or off state.

You can edit an optimization to add or update variations, adjust settings, or apply audiences.

All optimizations are saved in the Insights tab under All optimizations. Hover over a live variation and click Edit to begin.

You can also edit an optimization directly from the site page:

Open the Pages panel
Go to a page where the optimization runs
Click the Optimizations icon in the top bar
Click the optimization you want to edit
Make your edits. For example:
- Choose a variation to edit its content
- Click Add variation to create a new one
- Click Settings & goals to change configuration

Note

Settings vary depending on the optimization type. For example, manual personalizations let you manage audiences and variations, while traditional tests allow you to adjust traffic allocation.
