Customize your site for your customers' languages and regions.
Localization is the process of adapting your site to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of site visitors around the world. With Webflow Localize, you can create customized experiences for your audience based on their language or region — translating your site's content is one part of that, alongside customizing styles, assets, visibility, and page settings per locale.
How Localize works
A locale is a language, or a language and country combination, that meets your target audience's needs. Your primary locale is the default language you build and design your site in — for example, if you're based in the U.S., your primary locale is likely English. You can add secondary locales to support additional languages and regions.
By default, every secondary locale inherits the content, styles, and presentation of your primary locale. If you never customize a secondary locale, both versions of your site serve identical content.
When you're ready, you can override, or localize, anything a secondary locale inherits. Changes you make in a secondary locale affect only that locale, and you can reset any override to re-inherit from your primary locale at any time.
Localize limitations
Some Localize features require a specific plan. For example, Enterprise and Advanced Localize plans include automatic domain-level routing to direct site visitors to their preferred locale based on their browser's language setting. Compare Localize plans and features.
Localize doesn't support Ecommerce Site plan features, so products, categories, and pages can't be localized when both are enabled.
Localize isn't available in the legacy Editor.
