Does Webflow support IPv6?

Updated

Learn how to use IPv6 with Webflow hosting.

Before you begin

IPv6 is only supported on sites using Webflow’s new hosting infrastructure on Cloudflare. If your custom domain still points to Webflow’s legacy DNS records, IPv6 won’t work until you update your DNS settings to Webflow’s new DNS records.

Webflow supports IPv6 for sites that use our recommended DNS records with an additional AAAA record. Note that these instructions specifically apply to your root domain (e.g., mydomain.com ). For subdomains (e.g., www.mydomain.com), the Webflow CNAME record (cdn.webflow.com) already directs traffic to Webflow’s IPv6 record.

To use IPv6 with your root domain, you’ll need to access and update your domain’s DNS records:

  1. Go to the DNS settings for your custom domain (in your domain registrar or DNS host’s dashboard)

  2. Remove any existing AAAA records for your root domain, if applicable

  3. Create an AAAA record with the hostname @ and the value 2620:cb:2000::1

Important

Even if your root domain isn’t set as the default domain but is connected to your Webflow site, you must still add the AAAA record for IPv6 to work as expected.
