Check your Webflow site for common issues in seconds.
Webflow’s health scan automatically checks your site for common hosting, performance, SEO, and optimization issues. You’ll get an overall health score (0–100), an AI-generated summary, and clear recommendations, so you can quickly take action to resolve any issues.
How to run a health scan
Follow these steps to run a health scan for your site:
- Go to the Site health scan page.
- Sign in to the Support Portal (if prompted).
- Select the Workspace and site you want to scan.
- Click Start scan.
The scan should only take a few seconds. When it’s finished, you’ll go straight to your results.
Understand your results
The scan organizes your site’s results into five categories (tabs):
Note
Each check is equally weighted in your overall health score, except for Webflow Localization and Webflow Optimize in the Personalization & optimization category. If you’re not using these features, they’ll be highlighted as opportunities in your results, but they won’t affect your score.
Overview
The Overview tab gives you a health score for your site, along with an AI-generated summary of your site’s strengths and what could be improved. The color of your score makes it easy to see your site’s health at a glance:
-
Green (≥ 80): Good site health.
-
Yellow (60–79): Some issues need attention soon.
-
Red (< 60): Significant issues need immediate action.
Hosting & performance
A fast, secure site with a custom domain helps build trust with visitors and search engines. The Hosting & performance tab displays results for these key checks:
-
Custom domain status — Verifies DNS records for connected domains and highlights conflicts.
-
SSL — Confirms SSL is enabled (recommended for site security and better SEO).
-
Performance — Checks if features like minified HTML, CSS, JS, AsyncJS, and Per-page CSS are enabled.
Design & user experience
Too many styles or fonts can slow down your site and create an inconsistent experience for visitors. The Design & user experience tab displays results for these checks:
-
Styles — Highlights if your site uses more than 1,000 classes, which can make it harder to manage and slower to load.
-
Fonts — Highlights if your site uses more than 10 webfonts, which can affect site speed and user experience.
SEO & discoverability
Tags, metadata, and site icons help search engines understand your site and improve how it appears in search results. The SEO & discoverability tab displays results for these checks:
-
Meta tags — Checks if your homepage has a title tag, meta description, and Open Graph (OG) title, description, and image.
-
Favicon & Webclip — Confirms these icons are set.
Note
The scan only checks meta tags on your homepage. If your site has multiple pages, you’ll need to review tags on other pages manually.
Personalization & optimization
Personalization and optimization features can help you reach new audiences and tailor your site’s experience to different users. The Personalization & optimization tab displays results for these checks:
-
Localization — Indicates if Webflow Localization is enabled.
-
Optimization — Indicates if Webflow Optimize is enabled.
Good to know
If you’re not using Webflow Localization or Webflow Optimize, they’ll be highlighted as recommended improvements, but won’t affect your overall health score. Each item includes links to documentation so you can learn more.
Review and fix issues
You can use your scan results to identify and resolve potential issues:
- Anything marked with a red “X” icon indicates something that needs attention.
- Click the How do I fix/improve/enable this? link for a step-by-step guide to fix the issue.
- After making changes, run another scan to confirm everything’s been resolved.
Frequently asked questions
Does the health scan check my entire site?
Most checks are site-wide (like custom domain status, styles, and fonts). However, meta tags are only checked on your homepage.
Does the scan change anything on my site?
No — running a scan only analyzes your site and provides recommendations. You’ll need to make any changes manually.
How often should I run a scan?
We recommend running a scan when you launch your site or publish a major update, make changes to a custom domain, or want to review your site’s health.
Will improving my site health score guarantee better performance?
No — the site health scan provides general recommendations, but many other factors can affect your site’s performance that aren’t included in this scan. For example, page size, image optimization, and custom code can all impact performance. Improving your site health score may help, but it’s not guaranteed.
