Review metrics and see clickmap, average page fold, and scroll depth data directly in the canvas.
Analyze mode provides page-level data and visual analytics to help you understand how visitors interact with your site. In addition to key metrics like sessions, unique visitors, and bounce rate, you’ll see clickmaps, average fold lines, and scroll depth lines overlaid directly on your design. There’s no setup, tagging, or extra tools required — just actionable insight where you work. This helps you spot opportunities, validate changes, and improve site performance without leaving the Webflow canvas.
How to open Analyze mode
- Open your site in Webflow
- Use the Pages panel to select a page
- Click the View Analyze Mode icon in the top bar
Review your page level data
Analyze mode shows key metrics for the page you’re viewing, including the number of sessions, unique visitors, and bounce rate. These metrics provide context for interpreting the clickmap, average fold overlays, and scroll depth overlays on your canvas — helping you connect data to design decisions.
Device type data segmentation
Visitor behavior often changes with screen size and webpage layout. For example, key elements or navigation could shift positions across devices, impacting click patterns and content visibility. That’s why Analyze keeps the data segmented by device type, helping you spot these patterns clearly — so you can tailor design decisions for each experience.
Use the Device type filters in the Analyze Mode panel to switch devices or select All devices to review combined data.
Clickmaps
Clickmaps overlay visual indicators of where visitors clicked on your page and how many clicks occurred. Unlike traditional heatmaps that rely on X-Y coordinates, Analyze clickmaps connect clicks to actual elements — like buttons, links, and nav items — so you can see what users truly engage with.
- Clickmap events appear as top events in the panel
- Hover over a clickmap event or top event metric to highlight its counterpart on the canvas or in the panel
- Click a top event in the panel to jump directly to that element on your page
Use clickmaps to identify your most and least clicked elements. This can help you optimize low-click areas, reposition calls-to-action, or lean into high-performing components.
Average fold
In modern web design, “above the fold” refers to the portion of a webpage that is immediately visible in the browser window without scrolling. This area is crucial because it’s the first thing users see when a page loads, making it valuable space for key messaging, calls-to-action, branding, or navigation. Analyze helps you identify the average fold line per device type, giving you insight into what most visitors see first and enabling you to optimize content placement for maximum impact.
- The average fold line on the canvas shows what most visitors see before scrolling
- Ensure key content appears above the average page fold to make the biggest impact
- Consider auditing site pages to spot opportunities for improving content placement based on fold data
Scroll depth shows how far visitors typically scroll on your page, helping you understand how they engage with your content. It highlights what gets seen, where visitors drop off, and where you might want to refine your design. Use this data to reposition key elements, adjust content flow, and make sure high-value content appears where visitors are most likely to see it.
- A scroll depth gauge appears on the left side of the canvas
- Percentage markers on the gauge show how far visitors scrolled — e.g., 80% means 80% of visitors reached that point
- Hover over the gauge to display a scroll depth line overlaid on the canvas at that level
- Click the gauge to overlay a colored gradient that depicts drop off — warm colors represent where more visitors saw that part of the page, and cool colors represent where fewer visitors saw that part of the page
