Import/export 301 redirects

Updated

Use a CSV file to import 301 redirects, or export your 301 redirects to a CSV file.

For streamlined migration to a new Webflow site, you can upload a comma separated values (CSV) file of 301 redirects. You can also generate a CSV file of all your existing 301 redirects to save as a backup.

How to import 301 redirects from a CSV file

Important

New imports overwrite all existing redirects — that is, when you upload a CSV file of 301 redirects, it removes any existing redirects on your site. If you want to keep your existing 301 redirects, we recommend you export your existing 301 redirects to a CSV file, add the additional redirects you’d like to import to that file, then import the file.

Before uploading, you’ll need to ensure the old paths and redirect to paths map correctly from your CSV file to Webflow. Your CSV file should have two columns for the old paths and redirect to (i.e., new) paths, respectively, and rows for each 301 redirect you want to import. Learn more about writing 301 redirect paths.

Note

You can upload a maximum CSV file size of 16MB.

Once you’ve double-checked the structure of your CSV file, you can upload it to Webflow:

  1. Go to Site settings > Publishing > 301 redirects
  2. Click Import
  3. Drag in your CSV file, or browse your computer for the file
Note

If your CSV file includes any invalid redirects, the import will fail and you’ll receive an email with a link to download your original CSV file with guidance to correct the invalid redirect errors. You’ll also receive a notification in the Dashboard with a link to download your CSV file.

You’ll need to publish your site for the redirects to take effect after import.

How to export 301 redirects to a CSV file

To export your 301 redirects to a CSV file, go to Site settings > Publishing > 301 redirects and click Export. When your export is complete, you’ll receive a notification in Webflow and an email with a link to download your CSV file.

How to delete all 301 redirects

You can delete all existing redirects by going to Site settings > Publishing > 301 redirects and clicking Delete all. In the confirmation modal window, you can export your 301 redirects as a backup before deleting them. When you’re ready to delete all existing redirects, click Delete to confirm deletion. You’ll need to publish your site for the changes to take effect.

Note

Only site managers can delete all 301 redirects.
