Analyze now counts unique visitors and sessions differently for date ranges longer than a day.
Data accuracy is a priority for us, and we're committed to transparency with our customers. We've updated how Analyze calculates Unique Visitors and Sessions for date ranges spanning more than one day. If you're viewing a week or month of data, you may notice that historical numbers are lower than before. Here's why:
What's different
We identified an inaccuracy in how Analyze counted Unique Visitors and Sessions across multi-day ranges, and this update corrects it. Analyze now counts each unique visitor once across your entire selected date range, rather than adding up daily counts. As a result, a visitor who returned on multiple days within the range is now counted only once, providing a more accurate picture of your actual audience size. Sessions receive a similar, smaller correction.
Your day-by-day graph is unchanged. This update affects only the summary totals.
What stays the same
-
Your site traffic is unaffected. This update changes how unique visitors are displayed, not the underlying visitor activity.
-
Billing is unaffected
