User Accounts sunset

Updated

We’ve made the strategic decision to sunset Webflow User Accounts (originally under the name “Memberships”), our native solution for gated content experiences, on January 29, 2026.

To support you through this transition, Outseta and Memberstack are providing special discounts for Webflow customers impacted by this change who migrate to their services.

Pro tip

You can also work with an experienced certified Webflow agency partner to migrate to another third party user management or memberships solution.

What’s going away?

On January 29, 2026, the User Accounts functionality will no longer be available on all Webflow sites in which it’s currently in use. Additionally, you will not be able to add User Accounts to any new or existing sites. Starting January 31, 2025, you won’t be able to enable User Accounts on new sites. Existing sites with User Accounts will be able to continue using the feature until January 29, 2026.

How do I remove User Accounts from my site?

To remove User Accounts from your site:

  1. Go to the CMS panel
  2. Hover over User Accounts
  3. Click the settings “cog” icon
  4. Turn the User & User pages toggle “off”
  5. Click Disable User Systems
  6. Publish your site

Any User Systems-specific utility pages will be set to “draft” on your site upon publish.

In early 2025, Webflow will provide a way to convert User Accounts utility pages to regular static pages, should you want to keep them on your site.

Are there actions I need to take to properly get off User Accounts before I lose access to these features? And what tools do you recommend for gated-content functionality on my site?

You can can export your site’s User Accounts data with Webflow’s existing CSV import/export functionality. We recommend the following tools for gated-content functionality on your site:

If you prefer to choose a different tool, you can browse our ecosystem of vetted Webflow apps.

It is important to note that while our support team is happy to assist with product-related issues, technical problems, account questions, and application errors, we’re unable to provide help with design setup, third party integrations, website customization, or custom code. These areas fall outside the scope of our Support Policy.

What happens if I’m using User Accounts on my site on January 29, 2026?

If you still have User Accounts enabled on your site on January 29, 2026:

  • You’ll lose access to User Accounts and all User Accounts data, as it will not be migrated to the CMS
  • User Accounts pages will be migrated to regular static pages
  • Content gates within your site will be removed
  • For published sites, “members” will no longer be able to login to their accounts
