Learn why you may not be able to archive your site and how to fix it.
If you can’t archive your site, it’s likely because:
- you don’t have the required role or permissions, and/or
- the site has an active paid Site plan
You don’t have the required role or permissions
Only Workspace owners, admins, or site managers can archive sites. You can check which role you have by visiting Site settings > Site access.
To archive a site if you have any other role (e.g., Workspace member, reviewer, etc.), you can either:

ask the Workspace owner, admin, or a site manager to archive the site
- request that your role is changed to Workspace admin or site manager by the Workspace owner, a site manager or a Workspace admin
The site has an active paid Site plan
You can’t archive a site with an active paid Site plan. To archive a site with a paid Site plan, you’ll first need to either:

Downgrading to the free Starter Site plan is immediate, even if you have unused time in your paid Site plan’s billing cycle. You do not automatically receive credit for unused time on a paid Site plan that is downgraded to a Starter Site plan. Learn more about proration and refunds.
