Use save and publishing options to manage content on your site.
When you edit an existing Collection item, Webflow automatically saves your changes — there’s no need to manually save your work. Items or changes in draft status also aren’t published automatically when you publish your site, allowing you and your teammates to iterate on content without worrying about drafts being pushed to your live site.
When you’re ready to publish (or unpublish) a Collection item, you can choose from a number of different options:
| Publish option |
Sets CMS item status to… |
Affects publishing by… |
| Publish now |
Published |
Publishes the Collection item immediately, making it live on your site. |
| Queue for next site publish |
Queued to publish |
Queues the Collection item (along with draft changes) to be published with the next full-site publish. |
| Remove from queue |
Draft or Changes in draft
|
Removes the Collection item from the publishing queue. If the item is unpublished, it reverts to Draft. If live, it reverts to Changes in draft.
|
| Unpublish |
Draft |
Removes the Collection item from the live site immediately and reverts it to Draft.
|
| Schedule to publish later |
Scheduled for [date/time] (becomes Published once the item is live)
|
Sets the Collection item to publish automatically at a specified date and time. Once live, the status updates to Published.
|
| Archive |
Archived |
For live items, removes the Collection item from the site with the next full-site publish. For queued or scheduled items, cancels publishing. Archived items remain in the CMS and can be unarchived. |
