Widget

Widget

A widget is an interactive element embedded in a user interface that facilitates specific user actions or displays important information at a glance. They can range from simple buttons, forms, search boxes, and menus to more complex units like calendars, weather applications, music players, and social media integrations.

Web developers often build widgets using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to enhance the user experience of an interface. For example, widgets can embed a search bar into a site to retrieve and execute pre-written code, eliminating the need for developers to write and implement it manually.

By providing uniform functionality and appearance, widgets provide readymade and consistent solutions for popular functions and apps across platforms like iPhone, Android, and the World Wide Web.
