Limit the audience for AI-optimized and traditional test optimizations

Learn how to set an audience to refine who is eligible to see an optimization.

You can set an audience at the optimization level to limit who is eligible to see the optimization for traditional tests, AI-optimized tests, and AI-optimized personalizations. Only visitors who match that audience are eligible for the optimization.

While editing a test optimization or AI-optimized personalization optimization:

1. Open the Optimizations dropdown
2. Click Settings & goals
3. Click Limit audience
4. Choose A specific group
5. Choose an audience or create a new rules-based audience to choose
6. Click Save

For live AI-optimized optimizations, you don't need to republish the site — the audience is immediately applied.
