Learn how to edit variations in a secondary locale to localize the content.
The primary locale is where optimizations are created. Variations you create in the primary locale are propagated down to all secondary locales by default. Before launching your primary locale variations, make sure to localize them in your secondary locales.
Note
It's not possible to create new optimizations or variations solely in a secondary locale. First, create the optimization and a variation in the primary locale — then you can localize the variation in secondary locales.
Create the optimization and variation in the primary locale
In the primary locale:
-
Create a test optimization or create a personalization optimization
- Create a draft variation
How to edit the variation in a secondary locale
To edit the variation in a secondary locale:
- Click the Locale dropdown
- Choose a secondary locale
- Click the Optimizations dropdown
- Choose the optimization
- Choose the variation to localize
- Edit the variation with the localized content
Publish your localized variations
The localized changes you make are automatically saved to the optimization. When you're done localizing, you can set draft variations to Ready to launch in the primary locale and then publish the site to push the changes to production.
If the variations were already live in the primary locale, you just need to publish the site to push the localized changes to production.
